HOW IT WORKS

Laser hair removal works by a method called selective photothermolysis (photo = light, thermo = heat, lysis = destruction). This is when light energy penetrates the skin and selectively targets melanin in actively growing hair. The light energy then converts into heat and damages/destroys the hair follicle. The hair eventually falls out either immediately or within 10-21 days and grows back in patches. With each session, you should see at least a 10-20% reduction in hair growth and thickness.

SESSIONS

In order to target and weaken all hair follicles, 8-10 sessions are needed for permanent hair reduction (up to 90%). Laser treatments are repeated every 4-6 weeks for the face and every 6-8 weeks for the body. Depending upon genetic/hormonal factors and thickness of hair, more sessions may be required. Laser hair removal works best on dark brown/black hair and does not work on white, grey, red or blonde hair due to lack of melanin.

HANDPIECE

The Blend 810nm, 940nm and 1064nm handpiece is safe for ALL skin tones/types. Each wavelength targets a certain depth and structure in the skin and is measured in nanometers (nm). 1064nm is the deepest wavelength used for laser hair removal, making the treatment effective in destroying DEEP hair follicles. The beauty of the Blend handpiece is that all three wavelengths simultaneously target hair follicles with every pulse!

The large size of the Blend handpiece (20x9 mm) paired with its high power (4000W) means FASTER treatments as it covers more surface area and only requires one pass over the skin for effective treatment.
